the patriots were in full taping mode back then. that's why their defense looked so good. had that play occurred in oakland, there's no way it would have been called a tuck.

I don't think the NFL is "rigged" but I wouldn't be shocked to learn with indisputable evidence that it tries to story tell and works to create a narrative.

The NFL really, really likes Peyton Manning for some reason and he just could not win in the play offs. I thought then and think now there was something really fishy about how his team kept getting helped by the officials that post season.

The tuck rule was pretty fishy at the time but we've seen it a lot since and the Patriots did have a really great defense back then.

The Saints was also kind of fishy because all of the media and the NFL was all about Katrina sob stories that whole season but they were a good team and I don't recall any skeptical officiating that year.

So intervening sometimes, while really stupid and corrupt, is believable, but I don't think it's 100% rigged.
