Yea that's because the Jet were always held in high regard by the NFL fans.
Get real. The Jets were considered a joke until they hired Bill Parcells. The Jets have always been hated. Look at the Namath years. Do you really think the things he did wouldn't be considered a clown act today? Not a single Jet player has done nor said a fraction of the things Namath got away with. Even his own team hated him to a degree and he drove his coach, the defense, and OL crazy throwing all those picks.
