The roster quality was above average. Mangini was undermined by gimpy Pennington in '07 and old-man Favre in '08. The '08 team was sitting at 8-3 before Favre got hurt.
Rex Ryan is a great postseason head coach with non-Ryan draft picks; problem is, he's a terrible regular season coach with his own draft picks, so his early postseason success means very little.
