The problem is, at least for me, firing Rex wouldn't be about this year's record.
There are a lot of issues with this team and he has a strong hand in it, his handling of the QB situation, personnel decisions, four years of watching time outs getting wasted because players don't know if they should be on the field or not.
I don't see Rex improving as a head coach since he came on.
The Tebow and QB fiasco this year put my faith in his ability to right this ship at an all-time low.
I'm willing to see what the new GM does with him, Rex will have a one year audition with whoever the Jets bring in. If he shows the same level of incompetence in areas he should be growing in, then he has to go.
We don't need a cheerleader who can come up with 1,000 different blitz packages. We need a head coach with a clear vision on the direction this team is going in and with a strong hand on both sides of the ball.
