the thing is, there are other qualified guys out there! Not just Gamble and Caldwell! We do understand that, right? They just happen to the buzz names now.
Here are a few more guys who the Jets could consider:
Brian Gaine, asst GM Dolphins. Worked with Parcells and help build the Cowboys teams in the 2000s (you can't deny they weren't talented)
Dennis HIckey, Bucs director of pro personnel. They might not have the record to show for it, but do you see how young and talented the Bucs are now? Remember how old they were just a few years ago? Hickey had a big hand in that.
George Paton, asst GM Vikings. Was a leading candidate for the Rams GM job last season so the Vikes gave him a promotion to asst GM.
None of these guys are "sexy" names, but they have good track records if the Jets are looking for a fresh face.
