BREAKING: PEARSON RETURNS TO NY/NJ FOR SECOND STINT AS GM
(born January 12, 1951 in South River, New Jersey) is a sportscaster, former wide receiver for the Dallas Cowboys of the NFL, and former General Manager for the New York/New Jersey Hitmen of the XFL.
Pearson was the General Manager of the New York/New Jersey Hitmen during the only season of the XFL. The name "Hitmen," which implies a hired criminal, came from Pearson's experience as a hired killer in his youth. Pearson was credited for drafting contributors such as Dino Philyaw, Corte McGuffey, and Kirby Dar Dar who likely would have gone to the league's proposed Hall of Fame had the XFL survived to a second season.
Under his watch, the Hitmen finished in 3rd place with a 4-6 record, only one game behind the Chicago Enforcers who took the wildcard spot.
