They shouldn't but sometimes the option leaves you no other choice but to get what you can - second rounder. Revis is holding all the cards right now. jets don't pay him now (very big money) . He plays out this season and Jets can't franchise tag him. He unrestricted Fa and watch the bidding war start when it just going to cost salary and not picks.
The Jets get really a fourth round pick for Revis in 2015 (he leaves as Fa)or trade him now and get a second rounder in 2013. Those are really the only choices jets have.
That's why if Jets trade him your not getting any where close to his actual value.
It sucks but that what you have to realize. The time was last year to get the best back for Revis in a trade.
