I do not see this team as a super bowl team and I feel you should be in one of two modes at all times.
1) Actively looking to add to win the superbowl if you feel you are close.
2) Rebuilding if you are not close.
Any way you look at it, we're rebuilding. We're going to be replacing a lot of starters/contributors. The good news is most of those players suck, so they really won't be missed.
- Shonn Greene is gone. Not only can you easily replace him, you can easily replace him with someone better than he is.
- Ditto Mark Sanchez
- Ditto Matt Slauson
- Ditto Dustin Keller
- Ditto Bart Scott
- Ditto Calvin pace
- Ditto Bryan Thomas
Get the picture? Most of these players are terrible. The only ones I want (hope) we can keep are Landry and Bell. But if they're looking for big pay days, then let them walk.
A good draft, and some smart moves in free agency (and some worthwhile trades), and 2013 is a much better team than what we saw in 2012.
Super Bowl contenders? No.
