Here's my quick Boomer story -- When I was about 10 I went with my dad to a football pro-am golf tournament in North Jersey. As a little kid football fan I was pretty starstruck from the likes of Jim Kelly and Dan Marino in the flesh five feet away. Then Boomer came up to the tee, the QB of my beloved Jets. He must have seen the huge smile on my face because he walked over and gave me a golf ball and made some small talk. Heck of a nice guy.
Listening to him on the radio every day, he seems to be extremely genuine and down to earth. As a naive Jets fan back then I was a big Boomer fan, and I still am.
