Nothing like that happening here in central TX (Austin, San Antonio) or over in east TX (Houston, Beaumont) or even up in north TX (Dallas).
This is a big-ass state, so lots of weather and terrain variations.
Here's a photo from the Hill Country, taken in an area just west of Austin, where I live. So no tumbleweeds around here.

I have a buddy who retired to Dripping Springs from NY who is always trying to get me to come out west for a visit. Being a big music fan, Austin has always been on my list.
