Jets could "afford" to take this approach as they would largely be free of the huge contracts. Don't have to worry about having a retooling year or two while paying Revis $16 mil per. Use the two #1 picks to bolster the Oline this year and next.

3-13 guarantees us pick 1 or 2 in the draft. It guarantees us that rex gets fired and a real coach comes in here.
Winning 8 games with alex smith is the worst possible outcome for next year.
