You want to avoid permanent damage to the sciatic nerve. The longer there is pressure on it, the better the chance it is permanently affected. Also, if one of your legs is affected, you get weakness and possible even atrophy (as was my case)..then you compensate and your whole body goes out of whack.

I think I was walking the same day, in and out in 2 1/2 and that was a lifetime ago.
