If we wanted to lock him up like a top-5 player then it was only reasonable for him to ask for more in that case. We wanted six years and we wanted to pay him like the #14 pick. In other words we wanted something for nothing and they shoved it up Mike T's a$$. Totally our fault.

His deal voided into a 4 year deal based on playing time incentives, then it had "buy-back" options for year 5 and 6. That didn't matter because Revis and his agents knew that they'd be talking about a new contract before year 5-6 came about.
