It IS a big deal up to a point. It's just not something insurmountable for the Pats. They signed Amendola, and it doesn't mean that they'll be doing the same thing with him.
Welker was a big part of Brady's success. You can't just up and forget that. BUT, point is that BB is the best at adjusting.
Losing Welker should and does hurt. It doesn't mean the Pats will be a bad team.

It does hurt, at least in the minds of fans. If it hurt in the mind of BB, he'd be in Foxboro. I don't believe Belichick is in the business of actively trying to make his team worse. They will draft, acquire, and assemble a championship-caliber offense. What they do on defense is far more important now.
