Just voted for a Real Canidate: Bob Barr

I just finished the voting process, which felt eerily similar to renewing my license, and I can say I feel good knowing that I passed on the red and blue kool aid and I voted for a candidate based on the issues. Did anyone else join me and vote third party?

You know he's Roseann Barr's cousin, right?

Yep, I did this morning.

I voted Barr and then R's down the board, because, frankly, NJ is a blue state disaster right now.

Can you some up his platform concisely for me? I'm looking for a third party candidate to vote for and show my distaste for the two party system, but I don't want to show support for a wackjob.

he's way too conservative and not a true Libertarian... therefore I couldn't vote for him

He's the Libertarian candidate. Just cast my vote for him about a half-hour ago. That, and "yes" to allow all vets returning from war-service to get extra points on civil service exams.

If I had bothered to vote today, he would have been who I voted for.

Count me as one of the Barr votes.

btw, at this stage of the game for us Libertarians, you are voting in the interests of the future strength of the party. Forget about Barr for a minute. He's clearly not going to win. Is it really better to waste your vote on Barack McCain or John Obama?

Voted for Barr this morning in NJ. Funny story, my two oldest kids voted in their respective schools last Friday. After both schools tallied the votes each school had exactly one vote each for Barr. I'm sure the teachers who held this election never even heard of him. Gotta keep the kids thinking outside the box.
