Lions near trade for Falcons DB Chris Houston

per rotoworld

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Lions are on the verge of a trade for Falcons CB Chris Houston.
The deal should be finalized on Monday. Atlanta is expected to receive Detroit's sixth-round pick and switch places with the Lions in round five. Houston, the No. 41 overall selection in 2007, is immensely talented but fell out of favor last season despite starting more games than any Falcons cornerback. He is a press corner, which would fit well in Lions defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham's man-to-man secondary. Mar. 7 - 8:08 pm et

This gives perspective a bit on the Rhodes trade in respect to draft picks.

There's the notion that this may be one of the deepest drafts ever.

I remember that Houston and Ross were popular mock picks for us a few years ago. Thank god we traded up and grabbed Revis.

Could be a solid buy low move...He's athletic enough to be a decent back and Schwartz understands secondary player as well as anyone.

Speaking of funny draft stuff. Check this out. The part about the Vikings and Michael Clayton of the Bucs and Mark Clayton of the Ravens is hysterical and proves how useless it is to judge drafts immediately afterwards.

it's like Taylor Mays....people have drool coming from the sides of their mouths when they see how fast these guys are running forwards yet fail to realize DB's got to be fast in reverse and have eyes in the back of their heads...
