Beltran to begin running this weekend

According to Will Carroll of Baseball Prospectus, Carlos Beltran will begin running in earnest this weekend.

Carroll describes this as ‘a major test.’

Last week, Mets GM Omar Minaya said Beltran will likely return to the team four to six weeks after he resumes baseball activities.

…i assume running is a baseball activity… so, four to six weeks from this weekend would be some time toward the end of May… the team will not say anything on record about a specific date, nor should they, but the buzz surrounding beltran has always pointed to that mid-to-late May time frame, so i guess everything is on target…

…i can’t wait to see him and Jose Reyes in the lineup at the same time…

Someone should hand Cerrone a calendar. "four to six weeks from this weekend would be some time toward the end of May"? 4 weeks from Saturday is May 8th, 6 weeks is May 22nd. Only the worst case scenario they laid out is near the end of May.
