Mods, feel free to merge with the big discussion thread. I just wanted to gauge where the board stands. Thanks.

i want him to go, but for the same offense to stay. so, if that means promoting from within i'm fine.

I, personally, want Callahan to take over.

If I was the owner I'd keep him around for Year 3 Sanchez out of spite to the fans.

That said, since I'm not...I'd still prefer to keep him around. I think Sanchez is going to be good next year and I think that the guy who's been mentoring him should get some credit....which he won't come next year...or this year even.

So Schotty goes..I predict at the 4 minute mark of 1st preseason game (since Rex defers) a new thread on JI emerges titled,"insert new OC name Blows as OC"

Hopefully his name won't rhyme with some form of feces.

I think its probably time, 4 games without the Offense scoring a TD, 3 of which cost us the game. Those are not good stats, and he will be gone baring a Super Bowl run.

All depends on how the offense performs in the playoffs.

If they continue to progress and make some strides, then I'd want him back.

If we look flat and run a bunch of cutesy plays in key situations, I want him gone.

This team is talented enough on the offensive side to just lineup and make plays. We shouldn't need any gimmicks to get something going. I'd personally have no complaints with Callahan as OC. Just a traditional west coast offense. Work the screens and short and intermediate routes, run the ball down their throats, and look for the occasional big play downfield. Callahan directed some very good, balanced offenses in Oakland. The WC offense just doesn't really serve much purpose in college football, hence his failure as HC at Nebraska. He's still a damn good offensive mind who believes in a balanced approach.

There's NO reason to delay the process. Start Geno Smith.
