Yes! Let's take a trip back to the 8th game of the 2003 regular season. The New York Jets and their fearless leader, Vinny Testaverde, were coming off another prolific performance (from Vinny) in a win over Houston the week earlier to get the team to 2-4. Midway through the week, Chad Pennington becomes available to play, and clueless Herm announced that Vinny will start, and that Pennington will come in at some point during the game. Vinny starts the game like a house of fire, as usual, throws a couple TD's, and, true to his word, Herm pulls Vinny anyway and puts in Pennington. He proceeds to throw a couple back breaking INT's, and McNabb and the Eagles end up coming away with the victory, despite the cushion that Vinny had provided. Another gem by Vinny down the tubes. |

I was there also, as well as Houston the week before. Lots of road tripping for me in those days. The RU @ Temple game the day before went much better. Jets were into their Can't Hackett cardboard offense.

You can thank Hermie for the disappointing ride home after that game. Vinny was lighting the game up like usual, and the dummy had to stick to his script and pull Vinny out of the game, and of course Pennington was rusty at the time, and ended up blowing the game. If Vinny had stayed in that game, he probably ends up with 400 yards and 5+ TD's. Another brilliant job by Herm.:steamin: |

they were there in 2003. It was the game Pennington returned from a broken wrist injury way back in the preseason, but didn't enter the game until it was halfway done. they lost the game.

I was at that game too, and couldn't believe the Philly fans were booing Herm Edwards during the intros. They probably didn't remember the fact that he was once involved in a pretty important play for them as an Eagle. |
