Braylon

Since Schillens is always hurt, are we even thinking about bringing in Braylon?

No rush, if they bring him in they will wait until he is healthy.

Agree with you.....think Braylon would come back in a heartbeat, but think Jets Front Office done with him. Still puzzles me ,though, that they let him go when he obviuosly was developing a good chemistry with Sanchez. Kind of a wierd way to support the development of your young QB. Must really be something there behind the scenes. At least I hope so.

Time to wake up. The Jets front office has been doing this for years. When ever a player starts to play well they let them go and keep players that don't produce. Look at all the players that winning teams have that we're lete go by this front office.

What makes anyone think that they will do anything different this off season?

What makes us think they will all of a sudden have a good draft. The front office and that coaches inability to judge talent is a freaking joke. These are the a$$clowns that have created this mess.

If the Jets had any serious interest in bringing Braylon back, they would've done it by now.

Hell, they would've done it a month ago.

I think it's pretty obvious that we're drafting a receiver within the first 2-3 rounds.

Revis, Harris, Brick, Mangold, Holmes, Pouha, Moore, Cromartie......

All players that have played key roles prior to being resigned and continue to, and a good portion of out top players were drafted by the same front office as well......cant sign them all.

Signing Braylon to a cheap, incentive-laden contract is a no-brainer given the guys the Jets are currently pursuing. Automatically expecting him to reproduce anything close to the results he did in '10, particularly under a different offensive system, is what would make someone a fool.

Jets made a big mistake last season bringing in Burress and signing Derrick Mason. Huge downgrade from Braylon and Cotchery to those two guys.

Unless the Jets want to use their 16th pick on a college WR or sign Mike Wallace to an offer sheet. I would think that Braylon or Jerricho would be ideal #2 WR's on the Jets. Looks like Cotchery is a possibility in KC.

I see Chaz Schilens as a solid #4 with the potential to be a #2. Because of his history with injuries. You can't rely on him to be the opening day starter across from Santonio.

The roles are defined right now. Tone is the #1 WR, Kerley is the emerging slot WR, Jets need an outside guy at the #2 side. There are so many potential positives to Braylon. He fits Sparano's style of offense. He is a big physical WR who can block. He has size for the red zone and he has big play ability down the field. Plus he already has a working relationship with Mark Sanchez. Alot of check marks there. I see health as the only issue. I don't know about this behind the scenes stuff.

I still say they're waiting until April to bring in Braylon for a look(physical).

If April comes and goes without Braylon getting one phone call or something from the Jets, THEN and *ONLY THEN* will I join in the "Untouchable" bandwagon that the Jets are done with Braylon.

But until(if?) that happens, I say he'll be a NY Jet by the time May rolls around.

Do we need a daily thread on this?

Manish reported the Jets have interest in Braylon...

Braylon cleared for Jet landing?MANISH MEHTA
Wednesday, February 29, 2012

Rex Ryan left little doubt he wasn’t pleased with the Jets’ inability to stretch the field during their lost season. He may be reuniting with a familiar face to help remedy that situation. The Daily News has learned that the Jets are interested in bringing back free agent wide receiver Braylon Edwards, who was an integral piece in Gang Green’s success in 2009 and 2010. Edwards signed a one-year, incentive -rich deal with the San Francisco 49ers as a free agent before the 2011 season, but was waived before Week 17 and is free to sign with anyone. The Jets are looking for a replacement for Plaxico Burress, who won’t be re-signed when free agency begins on March 13 and said Tuesday that he would love to play for the Eagles. Edwards, 29, battled knee and shoulder injuries before San Francisco cut him loose. The Jets would like to bring Edwards back if he’s healthy and the price is right, according to a source. It’s uncertain whether Edwards would like to play for the Jets again. Edwards, who led the Jets with 904 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 2010, was repeatedly praised by Ryan during his time with Gang Green for his ability to stretch the field and his blocking prowess.
