It's fathers day and posting the article for all
UPDATE 9:27 AM PT -- According to our sources, King's fiancée is telling friends King had been drinking and smoked weed in the hours before his death.Rodney King -- the man who was at the center of the infamous Los Angeles riots -- was found dead this morning in Rialito, CA. He was 47.According to our sources, King's fiancée found him dead at the bottom of the pool (see photo of the pool below, taken today).Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they responded to a call at 5:25 AM PT. We're told they physically removed King from the pool and attempted CPR. Our sources say he was pronounced dead at 6:11 AM.Law enforcement sources say Rialto PD will open a drowning investigation, but so far there are no signs of foul play.King became famous in 1991 when he was the victim of police brutality at the hands of the LAPD. The officers involved in the incident were acquitted the following year and the announcement of the verdict led to the Los Angeles riots.*TMZ spoke with King about two months ago, where he seemed upbeat and introspective.*
I know he had alcohol problems. Possible drunken dip in the pool gone wrong.

Guy was a piece of sh*t who was made out to be a victim.

Everyone just wants to talk about the beating. Nothing about the fact that he was a multiple felon who was driving recklessly and resisted arrest the night of the incident.
King's fiancée is telling friends King had been drinking and smoked weed in the hours before his death
Seems that was the theme of his life. In the hours before anything happened to him...he smoked weed and drank.

Everyone else... was collateral damage.

See ya.

Guy acts a fool with police, gets beat down and then 50 something people die in riots. I suppose the beat down was a little excessive.

I'm reminded of the cries of Rae Caruths mother as he was found guilty... And carted off to life in prison.

The symbol of the unfortunate PC era. A piece of garbage made to look like a victim.

Since when are the cops judge, jury and executioner?

His prior rap sheet is a separate issue from the beating. There is no excuse for the actions of the police on that night.

His actions that night were responsible for the beating he took. Read the full story.

Bottom line, this man was a drain on society, not a contributor. Fortunately for his sake God is forgiving.

Dude seriously if a guy is drugged up and can't be restrained, and keeps getting up you keep going until your arm falls off.

Far from it. I know cops can be abusive, but if I put myself on their shoes I'm not leaving my kids without their Father and make my wife a widow because a guy is high and unpredictable.

Also let's not be dramatic with the executioner tag

Executioner? He wasn't killed. Please stop with the National Action Network chants that do not apply to the situation. Rodney King is no hero to put up on a pedastal. He was a drain on society. Obviously never grew up.

Rodney got an award of $3.8 million. In lesss than 20 years he blew through it. Had a nice rap sheet even after the beating.
That said, the police did get a little carried away. A couple hits on the kneecap would have done the trick.
