Brodeur Leaving the Devils?

New Jersey Devils veteran goaltender Martin Brodeur could be wearing a new uniform when the puck is dropped for the 2012-13 season.
Brodeur, an unrestricted free agent on Sunday, has hired player agent Pat Brisson to represent him and might be ready to test his value on the open market.

The 40-year-old netminder has had limited conversation with the Devils on a new deal and though he could still re-sign with the only NHL team he's played for, his new agent says he will entertain offers from other teams if an agreement is not reached at the beginning of the free agent period.
"He will be testing free agency if a deal is not in place by Sunday," Brisson told TSN on Friday.

The Montreal native and three-time Stanley Cup champion was 31-21-4 with a 2.41 goals against average last season and helped lead the New Jersey Devils into the Stanley Cup Final where they were defeated in six games by the Los Angeles Kings.

This would be very weird.

I could see the Flyers going full court pressure to sign him.

Had they not re-signed Biron yesterday, I would have said that he'd make a good back-up to Lundqvist.

True. There is no one else out there. I've read that Luongo is being shopped so I did think that he was a possibility. Although he would have come at a much higher price.

I forget how the deal worked out with him but he's making like 7 per right now... That's ridiculous...

OVERPAID?

Um....no.

Two years at $4.5 million for a first ballot Hall of Fame 3 time Stanley Cup champ who just took his team to the Stanley Cup finals.

That is a BARGAIN.....

You just paid $9 million dollars for a 40 year old goalie... I hear your argument and he played great last season...

We're trying to sign Parise... At least we better be... This doesn't help that fact...

+1.

I think Parise is also going to return to the Devils. NJ has nothing to worry about there.

I can't believe Winnepeg paid Jokkinen $9M for 2 years.

Calgary got Hudler for $4M per. A deal IMO.

I really hope the rumblings of Parise announcing today are true...

I'd rather know and move on than to keep waiting... I have a bad feeling about this one...

Donde esta Zach Parise? Damn, how hard is it to figure out you want to stay. Where else can you go where you can compete every year?

He is in Minnesota at home thinking it over, and he is also waiting for a b2 fly over.

He signed with the Wild. Now we have no Zach Parise and no B2.
