Santonio coy about why he’s out and when he’ll be back

With all the talk about Mark Sanchez and Tim Tebow, the player who perhaps can do (and perhaps has done) the most damage to the team with the things he says privately and publicly is receiver Santonio Holmes.

On Thursday, Holmes (largely) avoided controversy in his remarks to the media, possibly since he spent the time (largely) evading the reason for his absence from practice, and his timetable for coming back.

He says he’s not injured, but that he has “tightness and soreness” from “a lot of running.” Holmes said there’s “[n]othing specific, body-wise” that is bothering him.

Is there a timetable for his return? ”Nope,” Holmes said.

Of course, Holmes didn’t completely sidestep one of the various issues that always seem to be hovering around the organization, like flies over a steaming pile of, um, potato salad.

As to cornerback Antonio Cromartie’s claim that he’s the second-best receiver on the team, Holmes said (apparently on behalf of the other receivers), “Well, we’ll let the coaches deal with that. It doesn’t bother us. We’ll play on our side of the ball. He’ll play on his side.”

That sounds like a passive-aggressive way of saying, “Stay on your side of the ball.”

Of course, the coaches apparently have decided otherwise. And how it all plays out will be just another twist for the ultimate reality show’s ultimate sideshow.

I dodnt know Santoni-ho was not participating.

I trty to follow the KRL, Krrohdes updates but have yet to see anything that said Santoni was absent.
