My VPN Connection Keeps Dropping, *****es!!!!

Seriously, wtf?

Any Cisco tech-heads have any suggestions?

We just got a new DSL modem/router (yeah, DSL, I know, but normally its rock solid) and it keeps dropping literally every 15 minutes.

It's happening connecting wirelessly and through a wired connection.

Is there any partciualr settings in the router I should be looking at to help combat this nonsense? We're using Cisco VPN 5.0.06.0160

Locate and download a utility called "dr.tcpip" - test ur wired connection first - drop the mtu setting on the wired connection to 1500 and test the VPN connection

Yes for real...cnet should have a copy
U can go as low as a 1000- for testing - if it does work by lowering the mtu then I would contact the router support to have them look at their device
Remember each time u change the mtu w the utility u need to reboot

Run speed test. If you're not over .5 DL speed you're gonna have issues with a VPN connection.

Ours is run for us so I don't know how to troubleshoot it

Our ISP sent us a new modem/router because we've been having issues, and they said our old one was 'old as ****' but it worked. Now Im sure I have to mess around with some setting to get this **** to work. It seems to be dropping every 15 minutes, even when we aren't or or when data is being sent.

Could be e-dust.

Try running a magnet over your hard drive--that should clean out much of the dust and get you up and running quickly.

POSSIBLY.

How did you know that. Yeah I had to finally go to the actual store near the mall and demand a new box. The upgraded me to extreme for free. The thing would just drop whenever it felt like it really ****ed me in online poker tournaments.

Wait what were you referring to *******..
