Peter King's Jets thoughts from 8/8

Peter King‏@SI_PeterKing

CORTLAND, N.Y.--Jet thoughts 1: MVOA (Most Val Offseason Acquisition) is Tony Sparano. Giving Rex the edgy, tougher O he wanted.

Jet thoughts 2: NY set to go with Hunter, for better or worse, at RT ... Nothing chippy today. Football, not fighting, at practice.

Jet thoughts 3: Jets have plans for Tebow. Not saying. But my over-under, including STms, for plays per game for him is, oh, about 16.

Jet thoughts 4: "I love Tim Tebow,'' STms coach Mike Westhoff says. "All he cares about is helping us win, whatever he has to do."

Jet thoughts 5: Knocking Sea's reach for Irvin? Jets wanted him badly ... Hard to see Folk beating out Josh Brown at K.

He'll have his full postcards from camp report likely published tomorrow.

It's usually an entertaining read, but Peter King is by far the most misinformed of vast majority of misinformed sports writers.

His assessment of Folk not beating out Brown is undoubtedly the result of King looking up from his coffee and twitter account at the exact moment Brown booted that 58 yarder, then looking back down.

From all other accounts in camp, Folk has been vastly more consistent to this point.

I will give King this, he is the best at bragging about how many NFL superstars call him, or leave him a text or voicemail immediately after extremely important games in their lives

Jet thoughts 5: Knocking Sea's reach for Irvin? Jets wanted him badly ..
---------------------------------------------------------------------

I have heard that the Jets were interested in Irvin (at leas it has been rumored), but what does the quote above mean? Is hae referring to Irvin having a bad camp? Is he implying something with Coples?

?

When did the Jets knock Seattle picking Bruce Irvin? Is he referring to right after the draft?

Edit: Nevermind. I read it wrong.

good point

based on camp reports, Folk has, I believe missed one field goal to date. King's favorite has missed nearly half of his attempts...

I kind of saw it, believe it or not, as a tip of the hat to Rex. Basically I thought King was saying, "Rex knows D and if he was looking at Irvin, it must mean he's pretty good."

Just puked in my mouth a bit. PK sucks. I am glad the Saints hate him now. He loves those guys and they don't talk to him
