Fins Trade Vontae Davis to Colts

The Indianapolis Colts have acquired cornerback Vontae Davis in a trade with the Miami Dolphins, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports first reported and PFT has separately confirmed. The Dolphins receive the Colts’ 2013 second-round draft pick.

Davis and the Dolphins’ coaching staff haven’t appeared to be seeing eye-to-eye this offseason. Davis has taken some time away from practice, and Hard Knocks has shown head coach Joe Philbin getting on Davis during training camp.

The 24-year-old Davis still has two years left on his rookie contract, and we’ve been told there have been no talks between Davis and the Colts on a new deal.

The Dolphins picked Davis out of Illinois in the first round of the 2009 NFL draft. He has played in 44 games in three seasons, starting 36.

The Fins are definitely in full-on rebuilding mode this season. They now have additional second and third round picks in 2013.

They'll end up with 1st overall and take Barkley, lol.

The lolphins will never be anything to take seriously. I'm just glad they're in our division since it makes winning the division that much easier once Brady retires.

We play Miami twice early in the season. There is no excuse to not go 2-0. None.

There was an impressive 8 game win streak like 8 years ago or something, and every year i get a kick out of people saying how bad the Fins suck, and alot of fans chalk up 2 wins versus the fish in the "predict the W-L record of the Jets" threads.

Where the jets won the 8. Or close to it, they just finished a long period of dominating the fins. The series has always been a case win streaks. And given how they've had pretty good seasons, the Jets having more wins than loses against them says something.

Rex Ryan is 2-4 lifetime as a HC vs. Fins. They are the historical top rival of the Jets. i wouldn't go circling Fins games as auto-wins.

Vontae Davis may not be Darrelle Revis 2.0 (not many are), but this kid is can play the CB position and at at the age of only 24 he's developing into a very solid CB. This is a loss for Miami (for the time being). He's able to play both the run as well as make plays on the ball in coverage. Colts with a nice addition heading into the regular season.

You do realize that in the Wrecks Ryan era the Jets are 2-4 against that team who shouldn't be taken seriously.

And BTW, the Jets haven't won an outright AFCE champioship since 1998.
