Harrison's Review on NBC Reveals Referee Failures

Displayed how the Jets WR's were frequently held and obstructed throughout the game, creating timing issues and incompletions.

As soon as PIT discovered they were not being called, their CB's increased the offenses until it was standard play.

Also linked the same conditions with Baltimore's frustrations against the Eagles.

@MikePereira
I'm officially over it. The regular refs need to get back on the field. Enough is enough

Hate to blame the officiating but they've been awful in both of our games. That one PI they called on the Steelers has to be one of the worst calls I've ever seen.

Then why didn't we do the same? It sucks that there was blatant cheating going on but cheating is only cheating if it gets caught. A few full speed hits on the Rapist and we have a different game.

As somebody posted in the game thread, the Steelers seemingly made an investment with helmet-to-helmet hits for penalties for strategic benefit.

The Challenge with Roethlisberger is that he is so large, the amount of power required to bring him down is more than normal, tempting penalties.

My biggest issue was that the Jets players weren't wrapping and squaring up. They were treating him like he was a QB who protects himself, ie Brady or Manning. There are 2 ways to deal with him: hit him hard even at the risk of a penalty or limit his mobility.

Honor is all well and good but when you're getting thoroughly dominated being a little underhanded against a bully is a nice strategy.

This is purely nonsense. This thread makes it sound like we are Mario Williams. We got our a$$es handed to us today, no other way to describe it. Making excuses like our WR's were held only embarrassses us.

But we are not making the excuse. Someone else is. We're just pointing it out.

I agree. We sucked. The refs can't change that.

I agree. Maybe the staff was just as afraid of the refs as the Steelers?

O we got suckered punched today and just conceded to the bullies. It is interesting that it was brought up by a source not related to the Jets but still it's not an excuse.

Then shame on us for not doing the same, cause their receivers were running wide open everywhere.

Facts are excuses. Just throwing the term "excuse" doesn't negate that.
