What the Clippers are to the Lakers, we are to the Giants

The Clippers have always been a joke compared to the Lakers with an owner who was only concerned with making money just by owning an NBA team, product on the court be damned. The Jets, as awful as the last 40 years has become, are now going into an era with an owner where our lowest of lows will be surpassed. This guy doesn't care what the product on the field looks like, he's just concerned about the bottom line.

Meanwhile, the Giants, much like the Lakers, are winning championships and are well respected by the rest of the league.

Woody, Tannenbum, and Rex all deserve each other.

Mets to Yankees is a better analogy.

At least the Mets have won a World Series. And they're not the joke that we and the Clippers are. They also have they're own stadium and don't have to share like we have to with the Giants and the Clippers have to with the Lakers.

Donald Sterling is finally taking the Clippers seriously and making great strides toward being a decent owner. Can only hope Woody will soon do the same.

It took Sterling 11 years before the Clippers finally had a winning franchise in 92-93. And another 18+ years until they have a legitimate playoff team. So yeah, they're better now, but it took him 30 years to build that team.

I'm actually a Clippers fan, precisely because they fulfill the Gospel of Mets-Jets theology.

That stupid graphic we all hated months ago was oddly prescient.

No, it didn't.

Until they signed Chris Paul, Sterling never (ever) attempted to build anything (outside of real estate). Most of us here in LA still can't believe he has changed his ways completely, but one glance at the Clippers' roster dispels most of our doubts.

Whoa, me too. Grew up a Clippers fan for that exact same reason. Pretty funny.

If you are comparing Donald Sterling to Woody Johnson, it shows you know nothing about Donald Sterling.

The truth is, under Woody, the Jets have been willing to spend money and they have been a decent franchise. I'm not saying things could be better, and right now they are pretty dire. But seriously. Donald Sterling is on the short list of modern-time awful owners.

The Clippers are good with a bright future. And teams change so fast in the NBA it's a horrible comparison.
