Schefty: Jets release RB Kahlil Bell in order to sign a WR
Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter
Ramp up the Braylon-Edwards-back-to-Jets story. Jets released RB Kahlil Bell to make room for a wide receiver, per league source. Manish also reporting the same. |

Braylon Edwards wants to return to the Jets. Rex Ryan has an affinity for Edwards. There could be a reunion later today. #nyj |

I hope that this is true. Edwards fits in with our GROUND & POUND philosophy. Plus he can block as well as any receiver in the NFL plus he has always wanted to be a JET. WRECKS and TANNYBUM would be idiots not to bring him back!

Conor Orr @ConorTOrr
Can confirm @AdamSchefter report: #Jets waived RB Kahlil Bell. Also, per league source, Braylon is under consideration for open spot. #nyj |

I think many people on here forgot about his blocking ability. Yes its not a huge asset but it does help

let's see, Sanchez will not throw more than 20 passes in any of the final 3 games so jets need to sign a reliable blocking WR. Sounds like braylon.

Normally I think it's suspect when a fan base second guesses an organization that pays guys the big bucks to make great football decisions. However, this year in the pre-season we were BEGGING for a legit backup QB as well as a veteran WR and a new RT. So what happens instead? The Jets get Drew Stanton and then get rid of him while trading draft picks for Tebow instead of using those draft picks to bring in a legitimate RT or wide receiver (**** or a RB!).
Every step along the way we all said "they must know something we don't!" Turns out Wayne Hunter was an abomination just like we thought, Tebow was the exact distracting circus with no added value we all knew was coming and our wide receiver crew blows dead animals as suspected. I don't know what I want for next season, but Tannenbaum HAS to go no matter what. If Woody really is making football decisions we need a strong GM that will tell him he's a moron and not try to trade away all our picks for big names no one else wants. Edit: Forgot to mention everyone wanted Braylon on the cheap and they might end up getting him when it's too late. |
