Older song you have played over and over
Especially for us older fans, have you heard a song lately that brings you to your childhood and have simply played it over and over again?
I actually sat at the piano all week and banged out these 2 tunes. Both of these were hits when I was about 10 or 11. When NY radio was WABC. |

Since the 12/12/12 concert I've had the 3 songs that Clapton did stuck in my head. I thought he was the highlight of that show. I gotta catch him on tour this spring.

If you watch American Horror Story (if you don't you should) you would know this one. I have this song playing over and over in my head.

Got a hand held transistor radio for Christmas, and all I listened to was 77WABC with Dan Ingram. That following summer was 1977 and they did summer of 77. A lot of those songs from that summer remind me of childhood. When school started that fall it was all FM and boom box from then on.

I've found iTunes providing a readily available option to buy single songs has really allowed me to indulge (perhaps over-indulge) on some of these nostalgic tracks.
Here are a couple of mine... and on a more embarrassing, eighties note, does anyone remember these guys... I loved this track back in the day ![]() |

Still can't play it right.
Play this one almost every week. It has always just touched me in both a rock & roll and sentimental place. The middle section ("The girl I love...") gets me every time. Possibly the quintessential song in the 60s-70s rock era. Daily acoustic warm up song, which I then need to play on vinyl. |

[QUOTE=Soberphobia;4738255]^ ^ obvious, but still funny.
/QUOTE]Yeah. Funny. You know...people in the 60's weren't subjected to listening to music from the 1900's and 1910's, were they? Did the Galveston Hurricane people reunite in 1966 to take over the airways and make the kids back then listen to their cool accordion and organ jams? The generation that can't just let go. ![]() ![]()

A Day in the Life by The Beatles - one of my all time favorite pop songs. I was around 10 during the "invasion". I remember when WABC would play a Beatles song every 20min or something. I will always love the Beatles.
