Bills Hire Pettine

@ProFootballWkly: The #Bills hired former #Jets DC Mike Pettine as their new defensive coordinator, per @mortreport.

I'm not sorry to see him go but it should improve their defense significantly. Even if he can apply 75% of the things he learned from Rex, it will be a good NFL defense.

Exactly...

Rex's system alone will make that defense around top 15.

And it's a douche move to go in division. **** Pettine.

Well, Pettine is used to leaking stuff about our team, so why should that change now?

So I guess Buffalo will be switching back to the 3-4 now, could see Devito going to Buffalo now.

Hold on - Is every student just as good as their teacher?

How has romeo crennels defense been?

Mike Pettine coached outside linebackers in Baltimore and was given the DC position here. Yes he has learned under one of the best, but that does not mean he can handle the responsibility on his own. Furthermore, he needs players to buy into HIS way, which we have no way of knowing.

Lets hold on before we annoint the bills a top 10 defense.

@MMehtaNYDN: More changes for the Jets. Assistant DBs coach Jim O'Neil will join Mike Pettine as a member of his Bills' staff, per source. #nyj

That's ridiculous. There is a very limited availability for jobs like this. He shuld take advantage when they come.

To get a HC job? Not so much.

To make a lateral move after undermining your mentor for two years?

After having the play calling duties yanked from under you why can't he go wherever he wants.

Sort of when the Tuna took offensive play calling away from Charlie Weiss in the late 90's??
