Why would Gamble come here only to have limited control in addition to being saddled with an incompetent HC?

Imposing Ryan will leave the Jets with limited top tier GM candidates.

We'll probably be stuck with an internal guy or a second tier GM candidate. I don't want to get too emotional about this but I have to tell you that Woody Johnson does not inspire confidence.

Its Woodys fault for insisting Rex stays no GM will take this job when he can't hire and fire who he pleases. Already this tells the potential GM that they do not have full control of the franchise. So all you are getting is Cohen. Because woody can't just let the Gm run the team. He wants the clown and continue the circus act.

He was given the perimeters of the job and told what he can and can't do. He probably offered his solutions on how to get the franchise out of the hole its now in. Reality become uncomfortable for our clueless owner so he held firm.

Now a good candidate will go elsewhere or go back to a real organization to gain another years experience and look for other opportunities next off season. Hell he will probably get another crack at the Jets job next season.

Fact is there are a handful of top-notch candidates for a bunch of open GM jobs. Why come to the circus when you could possibly land in a decent organziation, pick your own coach and control personal decisions?
