Mock draft on NFL.com has the Jets taking Werner at 9

His measurables at 6"4 - 255 seem to suggest he'd be an OLB in the pro's, in the 3-4 D at least. What do you guys think about Bjoern Werner @ pick #9 for the Jets? Unless our new OC is a genius at turning crap O-lineman into studs, this is a wasted pick.

I saw this on TV the other day and flipped out.
If Warmack is on the board and we go defense with the first pick, the new GM should be fired on the spot. |

Here's hoping that GS3 under center, and Coples on
the edge works out.

I'm hoping Jordan falls to 9. We need a true 3/4 OLB edge rusher, and at 6'7 he'll be defending a lot of passes. The injury, and his height may scare off some teams, and he really isn't suited for a traditional role on a 43 team.
Oh yeah btw. If any team drafts an OG in the top 10 the GM should be fired on the spot. |

Hope he is there, doubt he will be. Getting a lot of JJ Waat comparisons. The guy is going to be a stud.

There is no way this team can go defense again.
The defense is fine. We need to score points to win. |

This. If you don't like the QBs here and Mingo and Werner are on the board you take one of them or trade down. At no point is a G worth that much. Maybe if you have a very well built team and all you need is a G but that isn't us right now.

This draft is pretty bad in the first round.
Trade down, try to get multiple picks in the '14 draft. This team will be very bad next year no matter what. |

I see Werner as strictly a 4-3 DE at the next level.
And an unspectacular one at that. |

If this draft is so bad in the first round, who is going to want to trade up? You cant just say trade down, its not that easy. |
