Mike Goodson is a solid, young back. At only 25 years old, he should come pretty cheap as well. Did real well without McFadden in the lineup. Bigger back, has a solid power/speed combo, and avg. 6 yards a carry in Oakland. Really good hands as well, and is a fit for the WCO. Not against the move at all really. Would've preferred to draft someone, but it's not a bad move.

That's actually a really good under the radar move. Goodson also avg'd 4.4 ypc a couple years ago in Carolina and he can actually make plays as a receiver out of the backfield (57 rec in '10, 16 last season). He's our first everydown back since Curtis Martin. Dirt cheap too. Smart move by Idzik.

Another note involving the Jets: running back Mike Goodson made a stop in Cincinnati Wednesday but didn’t settle on a deal and will visit New York on Thursday. Goodson didn’t get much time on the field after being brought in to be part of the Oakland backfield in 2012 (35 carries, 16 catches), but when he did, he impressed. His PFF Elusive Rating in those limited touches was an off-the-charts 124.5 thanks to the 13 missed tackles he forced and his average of 4.89 yards after contact. His Yards Per Route Run number (2.60) was also something to boast about, albeit again based on a small sample.

I've heard a lot about this guy...

Dynamic, explosive, game changer. I've seen these tossed around a lot from one of the JI West Coast scouts.

In all honesty though the Raiders are my madden team and this guy is a good pickup.

I'm guesing one year deal at a little south of $1 mil. Good, under the radar affordable signing of a player who is going to be a big contributor next year. Not a big sexy name though he will end up being a sexy name by week 8 next season.
