Come On Fellas. A lot of you have been here for a while and know where certain things should be posted. Please post NBA related material in the NBA forum, offseason or not.

Thanks

An ESPN News report that Shaquille O'Neal was out for the remainder of the season with a torn ligament in his left knee apparently was a bit premature.

The network is now reporting that O'Neal has only suffered a strained knee.
ESPN News made the original announcement earlier on Wednesday, citing a Miami Herald report.

The Associated Press was reporting that O'Neal would sit for Wednesday's game against the Indiana Pacers, then return to Miami with the team, where he would undergo an MRI on Thursday.

O'Neal left the game against Chicago on Tuesday night after landing awkwardly early in the first quarter. He fell onto Bulls forward Othella Harrington, after going up for an alley-oop pass from Dwyane Wade, and stayed on the floor for several minutes — holding his knee.

He was then helped off the floor and into the locker room.

O'Neal played only two minutes against Chicago and didn't score. O'Neal, who missed a game in December due to a calf injury, is averaging 22.7 points and 10.4 rebounds in his first season with the Heat.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

ESPN is just awful. They blew it with the hockey story they broke and now this. The latest report is x-rays were negative and he is headed for an MRI tomorrow. I believe he is listed day to day. ESPN needs to get its act together.

according to ESPN, they just said he was to have an MRI tomorrow when they get back to Miami but that the swelling is down and it may be 2-3 weeks...I don't know what you heard but I live in S Fla and I haven't heard anything that has me worried...and we will sign Mourning this week so even if it is true, i am not about to throw away the season

in fact, it was reported locally that Shaq told the team last night that he would be ok..

It doesn't really matter if he is 100 percent or not. Ben wallace and the Pistons dominated him last year and will do it again this year. They will once again win the East and maybe even have a shot for a 2 peat.

Too bad he is DAY TO DAY.

In fact he is probably going to play on SATURDAY.

Nice false reporting by the Miami Herald.

I hate it with these "hot" stories. Every news media outlet is under such pressure to break news, before anyone else, that they bite at all false stuff out there.

This has to stop. It's rediculous already.
