Let me count the ways...Proctor's arm was spent from Joe t pitching him in every game we played. So we got this Bettermitt player from the Dodgers who the hell is he? A younger George would have pulled the strings to get a 27 yr old powerful switch hitting first basemen in Texeria, also he would not have lost out to Boston in getting Gagne. but don't worry we got Bitternut, hell be able to replace Miguel Cairo... I could begin to list Cushman's achievements if you'd like.
Signing Igwa, letting Bernie go, Abreau is a chump, not getting a contract for Mo and Posada, not getting Ted Lilly, not having a real 1st baseman(Meintowitz, while a good guy is no Tino M). Signing Farnworthless, not improving the pen today. I know there is more I cant think, I'm pissed. I hate the people he has brought in!

I don't see the point of being GM for the Yankees. You get good players nobody (aka NYers) have never heard of, and that guy can't POSSIBLY be good. Otherwise he would have been a Yankee a long time ago...or ESPN would have said something, right? Last edited by SenorGato; 07-31-2007 at 06:02 PM. |

Typical answer from you. You said he was a below average player. He gave you a reason why he isn't. Why can't you admit once and while that you are wrong. Instead you put a twist on it. Again doesn't surprise me. |

He's right, though. Teixera or Gagne would have been an instant, bold-faced improvement, especially Gagne. |

Lol. This is why I love NY fans. If you aren't a superstar or you haven't played for the Yankees or Mets...how can you be good? Lol @ the idiot who thinks a player with an OPS over .800 is "below average." |

no, but in my opinion betemit is a decent bench player/pinch hitter. the yankees have a decent chance to get the wild card.......an eric gagne or mark teixiera would help in the play-offs alot more than a wilson betemit. 3 years ago the yankees get either or......and they then go on to make the play-offs and even the world series |

That's a solid viewpoint and an excellent conclusion. However, I hate, hate, HATE the Red Sox. It absolutely infuriates me that our biggest rival now has an unstoppable pitching staff. Their starters are very good and their relief is damn near perfect. Thinking about Gagne setting up Papelbon makes my stomach turn. |

The Yankees would've pulled the trigger on the Texiera or Gagne deals if it turned them into WS contenders, but it wouldn't have. Like you stae, it MIGHT have got them into the playoffs. Well, the Yankees aren't playing their seasons for 1st or 2nd round exits. Instead, maybe Cashman realized that not making those deals today puts his team in a much better position to win it all in 2008 and beyond. |
