Audi's are good cars but you'll get raped in repair costs.

You do know that Audis are very fun to drive, but have a very poor reliability record.
Buying a used one would make me even more suspicious.
Why would you want your first car to be in the shop half of the time?
I would go Japanese if I were you.

I'm comfortable with my 2006 Chevy Equinox, haven't had any problems.

And I mean raped.

You'll be crying when a common problem happens like a blown water pump.

Yes.

I had a '95 Mercury Sable when I got my license in Sept. '01. Driving to school one day some belt snapped and I lost power steering and brakes. Going 50mph. In the a rainstorm.

Good times.

SBIII, if you're seriously looking into buying a used or "pre-owned" (ghey) car, then go to http://www.edmunds.com/ It's a fantastic resource for both new and used cars. Oh, and don't buy an Audi unless it's a TT or an A8. Anything else and you'll more than likely see a chick behind the wheel.

SBIII, could you please start a thread about things you are NOT buying? Your list of things you're about to buy, just this week, include...

- LCD TV
- iPhone 3G
- Jets season tickets
- Audi S4

I don't mean to be a wiseass, but it's almost getting ridiculous (translation: "ridicurous" for Fishooked) as you're now outspending SAR by thousands.
