What are you reading/What have you read recently? (merged)

I am finishing the Book Thief. Amazing & heart-breaking. Stylistically - fantastic similes and great prose.

The Longest Day, the famous book about D-Day. Pretty good stuff.

Next on tap is Hunter Thompson's The Rum Diary.

Um.. I think I'll be the only one to say Sophie Kinsella 'shopaholic series'

(don't judge a series by its title!)

Sinner by Ted Dekker.... I'm only 30 pages in but it seems cool so far.... I just hope this doesnt turn out to be a religious type book.... I'm not into that stuff at all.

Anyone read Let the Right One In by John Lindqvist yet? It's coming out on paperback next month and I've been looking forward to it big time. From what I've read it's fantastic. I think JJ Abrams is going to adapt the film version to English as well.

If you guys are ever in search of what might be a good book to read, you could make an account on Goodreads.com. You make an account and can review books you read and see what other people say about others. Pretty useful me thinks.

Has anyone ever read Thomas Pynchon's "Gravity's Rainbow"? Apparently it's long, convoluted, and nearly impossible to follow during your first reading. I'd love to give it a shot, though.
