Choke by Chuck Palahnuik

Saw the trailer for the movie, and decided to read the book. Pretty good so far.

The new Playboy issue. The chick on the cover and CF is absurdly hot. I read the articles too.

Liked Pillars very much...sequel...ehh..not bad.
Is the sequel a skip? Finished Pillars about 2 or 3 months ago and haven't really found anything that great since. Heard the sequel was drawn out and lacked dialogue or something like that though.

Recently read Devil May Care (new Bond...decided to give it a try....eh not so much) and Wuthering Heights (ick) as well I need something good

"The Glass Castle", had it on the bookshelf, total chick book but not over the top as such so far.

Just finished "A Walk in the Woods" by Bill Bryson - pretty good and funny about him hiking the Appalachian Trail.

Try "The Book Thief"

or "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close"

my two favorites of the last couple of years.

Just finished Don Felder's book about being in the Eagles and the Blind Side about Mike Oher and the evolution of the left tackle.
Both good books.

Just finished Child 44 - excellent. It's about a serial killer in Russia. Just started Dennis Lehane's (Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone) new book The Given Day

I read Extremely Loud and Incredibly a few months ago on your recommendation. Excellent.

Awesome. Wasn't the kid a great protagonist? One of my favorites.
You'll probably like the book thief as well.

"the Broken Window"

I am enjoying Jeffery Deaver's "The Broken Window". It's the latest Lincoln Rhyme novel. In this story the perp cleverly plants evidence that falsely convicts innocent citizens. Of course Lincoln Rhyme is the master of evidence.

I'm only about 300 pages into the sequel, but so far it's not near Pillars. I'm hoping it will pick up.

Here's a free copy of both, along with some other "modern classics":
