take your BS liberal agenda and park it at the door. This is a two year old girl we are talking about, and a 'mother' who didn't give a sh*t. Maybe your concern should be about her and not with a mother who has lost her rights the moment she parked her sorry a*s in a bar rather than care for the child she brought into the world.
I'm a liberal? Since when?

I don't care about the child because I oppose the killing of another for revenge?
This story had much coverage only because the mother did well in deceiving close people and the cops. Her insistence of a kidnapping and the search kept this front page. Not to mention Nancy Grace.
And because the the kid was cute. And white. Don't forget that. Unattractive kids don't matter.

I hope for Caylee's grandparents the mother pleads out. Those poor people have been through hell and back.

But if it does go to trial, it will be crazy. I remember a cop lied about seeing the Caylee's mom out. It will get out of control quickly.
I honestly can't wait for this trial to start, the testimony itself is bound to be fascinating. If I remember correctly the court has a hearing in a few weeks to determine a change of venue.
Perhaps I reacted too quickly, but I have heard on this forum time and time again from guys who seem to be quick to jump in and defend the mother in this regard.

It isn't about killing another out of revenge. There have to be consequences in life. We are breaking down as a society because we keep erasing that invisible line that we are suppose to never cross, and if it keeps getting moved back, anarchy will reign.

We had a case here in Canada, actually not too far from where I live, where I guy was tracked online by a special child porn task. He was sexually assaulting his own four year old daughter online, and selling the contents. I mean, where do we as a society finally say 'enough.' You have crossed a line, and that line is going to cost you your life.

Now I get the whole argument against capital punishment for the 'what if'
scenario for wrongful imprisonment. But I cannot defend a life that does something so heinous as to assault your own child for profit. I don't care if it happened to him as a child, somewhere down the line we need to become adults and stop the abuse.

My proposal, as always stands; if we don't like capital punishment, then it is time for Canada to donate Greenland to the world, build a big wall around it, and just put these people in there for good. You want to live in a world where nobody respects human life, than give them their wish. In 25 years, we'll come back and see if a) your alive and b) ready to join the world again.

So again, I apologize if I jumped the gun, but sometimes I read things and it just looks like an agenda that says "who are we to say what's right and wrong and to judge others." Well, I'm here to say I am like many others, to reclaim that line once again.

That's not what opposition to the death penalty boils down to, Steve. Of course this lady deserves to die...hell, she deserves a lot more. The thing is, and you of all people should know, is that mankind is imperfect. It impossible to guarantee that every single person convicted and sentenced is 100% guilty. We can get as close as humanly possible...but that's it. We cannot be perfect. Hundreds of people have been exonerated while on death row...and that is good, the system of appeals we have obviously works very well. But again, it is impossible for it to be perfect as perfection is unattainable by mankind. The life of one, just one, innocent person outweighs all the guilty people we could possibly execute. And since the death penalty is irreversible, it does not suit a system tainted with human imperfection well. That's why God holds the most powerful position of judgement around. He is the person who solely reserves the right to decide someones fate for eternity.

That's why I personally am against the death penalty. Not because I'm some wussy ACLU member who believes that any evil mind can be rehabilitated. But because I can't condone playing a game of probability and odds when an innocent persons life may hang in the balance.

Is it cumbersome and expensive to house our criminals? You bet...but I would suppose that's the price we pay for attempting to self govern after the original sin. (ha...getting all biblical on you after a week or so of complete irreverence... :D)

My line is death. Obviously, there's right and wrong. But I don't think we have any real authority to kill another. If there is a creator, he has that authority. Not us.

I'm not very familiar with the 9th Circuit (at all really), but from my understanding it's a pretty liberal court and I think with the coverage now, which today has grown even larger, a change is going to be necessary and should be granted. There's no way in hell she's going to recieve a fair trial in Orlando.

Strickland's been the judge ruling on it thus far, no?

EDIT: Judicial Circuit of Florida, not Appellette Circuit. Sorry, finals are killing me right now.

The crime occurred in Florida. Maybe the 9th was involved with the fugitive status.
Someone remind me why this is top-of-the-fold first-headline News?

With respect, it's a tragic story, no doubt......but do you have any idea how many people (including children) are killed in America each year? Why is this one so special as to warrant this kind of coverage?

Other than being a telegenic white kid, why is this story getting coverage whilst hundreds and thousands of others get bupkis?
you got sand in your vagina tonite, war? who cares what color the child is? you can say that about any missing child case.some pull harder than others and the callousness of the mother on this one made this story compelling.

So if someone killed one of your loved ones you wouldn't want them killed in retaliation? You have no spine.

Apparently something was found with the remains that links them to Caylee's home.

I heard on the news this morning that the mother had to be given a sedative in jail when she found out these remains were discovered. Just sayin'.

Oh and guys, if you want to debate on the death penalty, etc., start another thread please?

Thanks!
