What the hell was the strategy this game for USA?!?! I know at the end, they were playing for a tie, but before that?

This is why we can't move up the world ranks in soccer, we don't play like little pussies by taking flops and wasting time.

only caught the last 15 minutes...gut wrenching to watch. WTF can't the US win in a hostile environment?

What does this loss mean to Team USA? What are the implications?

Mexico is like 160-2 all time there in World Cup qualifying. The home field advantage is ridiculous, it's nothing like up here at all with big sports.

They are still in 2nd in CONCACAF, not that big of a deal. Just woulda been a huge moral boost.

Does Ireland have a good shot to qualify?

the strategy? there was none.

if you want to play the "quick score and then fall back on D" type of game, you have to be very tight in coverage on your side of the field. the US was giving Mexico waaaaaay too much space, Mexican players pretty much were doing what they wanted out there, and Bradley never seemed to adjust.

poor coaching, poor execution, 2-1 is more than fair considering Mexico dominated throughout.

the US is still comfortably in 2nd place, but now Mexico is alive again. if the US had pulled off the win, even a tie, Mexico would've been in serious trouble.

Understood, but was expecting to ride some momentum after the Confed cup this summer. That, and after the b team getting waxed at home a few weeks ago...bitter pill to swallow just the same.

One shot on goal. Incredible.

Mexico, to their credit, held possession for what had to be 85% of the game, and we never put two passes together after Donovan-to-Davies. We looked so inconsequential on the field that this simply had to be a case of Mexico playing their best game possible. We were invisible, and are never going to get a fair shake from concacaf refs on the road, especially in Mexico. Today's crew was mostly just guessing at calls.

None. This is the "A" Team .... unless Kenny Cooper starts scoring like a machine in Germany, expect to see more Brian Ching the rest of the way .... J.S. Torres and Holden are on the bubble with several players deserving, presumably two of Klijestan / Felihaber / Quaranta.

Can't fault the defense today, since the midfielders never showed up. allowing Mexico to keep control in the center and their forward third at will.

Now, they're third right, because Honduras lost?

Sept. 5th is our next game. It's against El Salvador. Mexico will be playing Costa Rica on the same day.

Well my fellow Jet friends.
After that 5-0 in the glorious field of the medowlands anything could be expected.
Yesterday was a great game. After the 1-0 it seemed like history repeating. How many games in the last 10 years Mexico has had control of the ball, the momentum, attacking and after one mistake USA goes up, scores and later the beat us by another goal. Tacticly USA plays as well as any grate team. Yesterday your stragety didn't work out. Mexico played better, they didn't loose their head, keep calm and deserved the win.
I hope both teams make it to the WC.
Good luck...
Ay ay ayay, canta y no llores, por que cantando se alegran cielito lindo los corazones!!!!
