I haven't watched the Lakers this year, but they have on occasion lost, so I suppose my Pistons can pull it out.

..but can Ben Wallace do anything about Shaq?

I would think that unless they can shut down Oneal, there will be no "smothering defense".

I'm torn on who to root for here. On one hand, I want an Eastern conference team to win the title (not Jersey), but on the other hand, I want to see the Mailman and GP win a ring. I'd also like to see Kobe win another championship so he can be satisfied with his current accomplishments, then come toil in obscurity with the Clippers. Should be a very interesting series. I don't like Malone's chances against Big Ben though. Kobe vs. Rip should be good.

The only way Detroit will win is if they hold the Lakers Under 80 pts every game. NOT GONNA HAPPEN.

Lakers in 6. (Maybe 5)

I cannot remember a time when I've cared less about the NBA than right now.

Lakers in a sweep. Kobe will sodomize Richard Hamilton, except when he sodomizes somebody this time it will be legal.

I would be shocked if the Pistons won more then 1 game. This series has a lot that reminds me of Knicks - Spurs in 1999.

Go Pistons. Got the Motor City Mashers for $20 with my bartender. Hope Ben Wallace takes out Shaq's knee with a hip check/box out.

Malone and Payton will not both be invisible again. This was the Pistons game, and they took advantage.

Phil Jackson's total lack of any game plan is embarrassing. CYO coaches for 7-year olds who show up Saturday mornings with a cup of coffee in one hand and the bag of balls in the other are more involved. This is a joke. The Pistons are only in this because Jackson shows up 5 minutes before and sits ther like the Sphinx babbling about "The Triangle". Please-get the ball to Shaq inside over and over, and the Pistons can't do anything about it . And the Lakers win these games by15-24 points. Last night, the Pistons couldn't do anything against Shaq in the paint an fell behind in the 2nd quarter. And then Jackson decided to statr coaching in the 3rd quarter, and it's a game.

It's instructive to remember that for all the Triangle nonsense, the Bulls still put the ball in Jordan's hands down the stretch of any tight game. But Jackson still thinks he was the reason they won.Jackson by dint of talent will probably still win his 10th title. But the idea that he's a great coach is a ridiculous.

Jackson and the Laker's poor shooting aside, does anyone play defense like the Pistons? Wallace & Wallace inside is as solid a stone wall as there ever was in the NBA in the past 35 years.
