Floyd Mayweather Rant Against Manny Pacquiao

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/0..._n_703731.html

Seriously Floyd, the least you could've done was accept the fight first then run your mouth. Keep ducking him though.

Love Floyd...

But eventually he's going to have to fight Pac or the label of him ducking superior fighters will stick for life.

If he takes the fight and wins, all others will be forgotten.

He'd be fighting for his legacy and could finally retire.

The most boring champ ever, if he ever fights Paq then I "might" respect him as the champ. He has clearly been avoiding him for years.

It's really the opposite...before that supposed "May 13th fight", Floyd wanted to do olympic style drug testing, but paq refused....i think paq is avoiding him to be honest

Hopkins: Manny Pacquiao beatable
Updated: November 18, 2010, 1:11 PM ET

Would an African-American boxer stand a better chance against Manny Pacquiao than his most recent competition?

The Pacquiao and Mayweather camps have twice tried and failed to set up a fight between the two fighters, despite predictions it would become the most lucrative fight ever. The first set of talks broke down in part over disagreements about Olympic-style drug testing.

Pacquiao adviser Michael Koncz strongly denied that Pacquaio is ducking anybody of any color or background, according to the report.

Bernard Hopkins thinks so. And while boxing fans wait -- and wait -- for Pacquiao (52-3-2, 38 KOs) and Floyd Mayweather Jr. to finally agree to terms for a fight, Hopkins is asserting that an African-American fighter's style would give Pacquiao more of a challenge than Antonio Margarito was able to muster against Pacquiao on Saturday night, according to a story on Fanhouse.com.

And Hopkins -- who said he's voicing what other black fighters and fight fans are thinking but reluctant to say -- is wondering why Pacquaio hasn't fought Mayweather "or any other top-notch black fighter," according to the report.

"Floyd Mayweather would beat Manny Pacquiao because the styles that African-American fighters -- and I mean, black fighters from the streets or the inner cities -- would be successful," said Hopkins, according to Fanhouse.com. "I think Floyd Mayweather would pot-shot Pacquiao and bust him up in between the four-to-five punches that Pacquiao throws and then set him up later on down the line."

Pacquaio fought and defeated Joshua Clottey of Ghana earlier this year, but Hopkins discounted that win, saying "Clottey is 'black,' but not a 'black boxer' from the states with a slick style."

"The selection of opponents for Manny has nothing to do with race, creed or color," Koncz said, according to the report. "It's all about business. And they can cry all that they want. It's all about economics, now, with Manny's career.

"We have the luxury of doing that because Manny has proven to the world that he's got nothing left to prove. If there are any boxing people out there who doubt him, then, to hell with them," Koncz said, according to the report.

Bob Arum, who promotes Pacquaio, said he has heard that argument before, according to the report. He also denied Pacquaio is ducking anyone.

"I have heard that, yes. A lot of people don't articulate it. But a lot of people, in effect, hint at it. But you're absolutely correct, and there is no argument there," Arum said, according to the report. "The notion that he would not fight an African-American fighter is ridiculous."

Pacquiao isn't avoiding Mayweather, he's avoiding random drug testing...

Why a man who is supposedly clean and has nothing to hide is turning down a massive pay day and a shot at going down in history as a top 10 ATG over a pinch of blood doesn't make any sense to any rational human being...He instead chooses to fight damaged boxers like Cheato at catch-weights for BS belts...

It's like getting two job offers and turning down the higher paying and more prestigious position because they won't give you advance notice for when you have to take a drug test...who does that other than someone with something to hide?

It's insane what Pacquiao is getting away with here and it's all because of the hate the media and fans have for Mayweather...I understand the guy is not likable but to support Pacquiao openly ducking a steroid test and blaming Mayweather for demanding he be tested is certifiably insane...

Your kidding right? Pacquiao said he'd have blood taken the week of the fight or immediately right after the fight. Mayweather wanted the blood drawn the morning of the fight. It's a ridiculous request designed to have the fight not occur. It's Mayweather's latest way of ducking a fight while blaming Pacquiao for it.

Mayweather is the definition of a paper champion. He's ducked all the best fighters throughout his career or has fought them only after their prime.

Take that weak **** elsewhere Floyd.

So why not just agree? Why not agree to a random surprise test? Both parties. There is something behind not agreeing. Let not be so naive.

Its the timing of the drug test ie drawing blood that seems to be the issue, taking it on the morning of the fight - as opposed to the week before which Manny has agreed to- is unreasonable.

Watched the official weigh in between PacMan and Sugar Shane on ESPN earlier today. It goes without saying thatthe atmosphere was electric. Hopefully and barring an upset, the Manny/Floyd showdown will take place granted that PBF gets by his legal troubles

The whole blood test thing is total bullsh*t.

Pacquiao has since said that he will do the test, and Floyd has yet to even respond.

Mayweather is a f*cking joke. There's no doubt that he's ducking Manny. Hell, it's even gotten to the point where everyone in the media who once upon a time kissed his ass at every turn, are now calling him "yellow" and a coward.

Mayweather could retire undefeated and it wouldn't really mean anything. People are still going to remember him for doing everything within his power to avoid a fight with Pacman. That will be his legacy.

Mayweather wants the best of both worlds... talk crap and not fight.
Manny would rip his head off.

I don't even see how you could say otherwise.

Mayweather has fought in an age where boxing is almost completely dead. A sport that is now absolutely littered with chump competition.

What's his claim to fame? Winning a decision over a 42 year old De La Hoya?

Beating up on guys like Miguel Cotto, Antonio Margarito, and Shane Mosely?

Admittedly Pacquiao has faced the same competition, but he's more than willing to step into the ring with Floyd. The same can't be said about Mayweather, who has made himself look like he's completely scared sh*tless of Manny over the past 3 years.

It seems to me, and a ton of other people, that Mayweather is more concerned with preserving his unblemished record than he is to step into the ring with the best and give the fans the fight they want.

Mayweather never fought Cotto or Margarito, he ducked them too, pretty much ducked any dangerous fighter in his prime who was not significantly smaller than him.

Pacman, OTOH, went up in weight to fight both of those guys, both naturally bigger men still in their respective primes, and he beat both of them senseless.

Not saying they are great fighters, but they were amongst the best of their era hovering around welterweight, both respected champions, both dangerous in terms of power, both still in their primes, and both avoided by Mayweather who didn't even have to go up in weight to fight them.

Mayweather's whole career has been carefully managed with hand-picked opponents who were either tailor-made for him style wise, or old and washed up, or naturally smaller men who had to come up in weight to fight him.

People in boxing know how his career has been managed, all of his opponents have been "hand-picked" while he has carefully avoided every dangerous opponent who didn't come with some kind of angle in his favor, and of course the same is true of Pacman who he has avoided like the plague.
