Good man. The relief after having the test is worth having the test.

And don't forget they dope you up before they knock you out.

Meaning not being regular and having sporadic dumps; such as going every couple of days or so. Ideally one should be able to know when their dumps aka 'the crap window'

No, you need to 'clean it out' before you go. Meaning they will prescribe something for you to take and once you start, do not make any plans. Stock up on TP. Get that pile of magazines ready. Charge your phone.

I have been told by my physician to do it at 50. My PSA's always come back fine etc....

Are you guys saying that 40 is the age?????

I am seeing my doc next week perhaps I'll speed it up a couple of years?

If FF2 can take it...must be a snap.

Two different tests, dude.

PSA is for the prostate. If they are doing a colonoscopy to check your prostate, I'd get a new doctor.

You'll probably come like a wildcat, though.

Credit to Robert Schimmel for that one.

That much I know...PSA annually since I was 40. I have NOT had a colonoscopy as My doc sees no need for men under 50 with full healthy signs and no history like me.

But sounds like some guys here do it at under 50.

I believe most US insurance companies will not cover a colonoscopy for those under 50 unless there is a specific reason (family history, polyps....)

I did wake up right in the middle of mine, it hurt somewhat but was not excruciating. I felt like Jets Things when he pretends to be wasted and unconscious in a gay bar bathroom.

When I came to I said, "Hey, I thought I wasn't supposed to wake up". Dr. said "you didn't tell me you had a crooked colon or I would have brought my crooked stick" Doctor and nurses chuckled. I was squeezing the rail of my bed and looking like I was trying to pass a bowling ball. I then eventually passed out again.

It wasn't the end of the world. I wouldn't do it again for fifty bucks....maybe a hundred.
