Raise The Debt Ceiling

If Obama wants to play his games, don't raise the debt ceiling. You have shot your mouth off once to many times and now is time to shut it once and for all.
It is time to show some leadership you 2 bit hack!

The country can pay its bond debt if the celing is not increased. There will be a problem paying gov workers though. And that's good. They are mostly grossly overpaid and underworked. Congress should halve its staff as should most departments. Education and Housing should be eliminated. Michelle Obama could have her staff of 20+ (17 more than any other First Lady in history) reduced to 3.
Even the military could use a cut. There are far too many generals and admirals relative to need. There are too many make work projects going on - you see them everywhere.

Good idea lets stop paying our military. Maybe they can hitch a ride home on Afgani air.

2008 White House Office Staff List - Title
Washington Post

This is a list of employees in the 2008 BUSH White House

Plug "First Lady" into the 'find on this page' function.

You will find 16 occurrences

Is this another one of those "not intended to be factual" statements made by John Kyl?

I never said not to pay the military. I don't consider them government "workers". Obama is the dirtbag that said he would NOT sign a waiver ot pay the military in the recent budget talks.
There is way too much fat in our government worker budget.
There is way too much staff throught the fed government starting with the Executive branch. Michelle Obama with over 20 aides? Nonsense.

And Michelle has now increased her staff even more with her "Help military families" program. Even adding the recently fired General McCrystal to her staff. The military doesn't need her to help. She'll do what? Suggest more non fat milk (fact) and perhaps an apple a day?
The current first lady's staff is at present still almost twice the size o Mrs. Bush's and at more than twice the salary.
While George W. clearly overspent, the current guy is putting up deficit numbers at the highest rates ever. He is using the office as party time headquarters. He, the wife AND kids travelling everywhere.
Obama has zero experience at running anything. No president in recent history (100+ years) has less practical experience. He is your basic phony academic.

Ok raise the debt ceiling so we can go deeper in debt. That really sounds smart. Obama already spent overspent the last debt ceiling.

complaining about the first lady's staff in a budget discussion is like wishing the fuel efficiency on the Titanic were better. This budget has a huge gaping iceberg sized hole in 3 wars, medicare and SS. it's not the 10 extra aides for Michelle Obama that's putting us over the limit.

The President and First Lady's big personal spending attitgudes are symptomatic of the proble. They really don't care. It's all about them. An imperial presidency.
Medicare and social security are a problem. Raise the age to 70 effective 2016 or so. Eliminate early retirement at 62. Raise the payroll tax to 17% (13% SS & 4% Medicare). No services whatever for illegals. But the Democrats refuse to pursue that direction. The Republicans, frankly, were afraid as well. The debt reduction commission headed by Alan Simpson and rskine Bowles did have some good ideas - implement them. Obama ran away from them. More personal responsibility is needed

agree with the first statement, disagree with the 2nd... the Simpson Bowles committee Obama said he leaned on heavily for his latest plan. There are many similarities. Simpson and Bowles have endorsed the Prez plan as well.

Actualy the last I heard Alan Simpson speak he didn't think too much of the prez's plan. There is too much talk of scalpel. I do not endorse a machete (the admin's lingo) but how about a cleaver? Cuts need to be made everywhere. Especially on the programs for the the poor.
45% not paying taxes is BS. The upper brackets can be tweaked up. Cap gains and dividends to 17.5% for example (half the top marginal rate).
I happen to own stock in GE and Exxon. It's a disgrace they pay ZERO tax. And Jeffrey Immeldt (the jobs EXPORTER) is the president's jobs guy? Bizarre.
Let's create jobs. That will reduce handouts and increase taxes.

Sorry. After the famous "Help the Military Family" program it is.
Plus her travel budget is astronomical. Marie Antoinette deserves only the best.
Are you one of the welfare recipients who so dearly loves the prez because you get handouts? Sounds like it. We either cut or we're dead. S&P came out with a warning today that our debt could be downgraded unless we take action to reduce the deficit. This president has taken zero effort to do so and has far exceeded GWB's excesses. He is an incompetent with ZERO experience at managing anything.
