This guy.......during his freshman year: WOW, what a beast!

Then this happened:

Never really returned to that form afterwards. Thought he might have been getting it back at the end of his sophmore year, then he did nothing this year.

He'll probably never get back to where he was, but I'd have to take one last look at him. 6'6" 230+ and he can run.

I would like to take a look at CB Darren Walls kid has all measurables plus 4.3 speed. Showed good coverage skills at ND.

Jets brought Jeff Tarpanian and Lefeged in for visits...So they could be possible signings when permitted..

Derrick Locke has All-SEC speed. I'm shocked he wasn't drafted.

Part of why Devlin wasn't drafted was that he showed up 30-45 minutes late to his Pro Day, IIRC.

Kinda Surprised Cedric Thornton didn't get drafted...

I'd like us (pls lord. just this once) to hopefully get OLB's Friday, Chinasa & Albright in here for a look. D. Williams and N. Williams went undrafted too if i'm not mistaken. Lainhart too.

I was really hoping with my taste for freakishly sized WR that DeAndre Brown was going to have a better '10 season, but that busted leg just seems ot have crippled him.

Mario Austin - OLB - Troy

Positives: Outstanding athlete. Very good initial quickness and burst off the edge. Can bend, dip and leverage the edge with natural pass-rush talent.

Negatives: Not instinctive — at times screams up the field and runs right past the ball. Cannot sort out misdirection and lets the ball cross his face. Does not have a pass-rush plan. Marginal eyes and instincts. Does not feel blocking pressure and is late to find the ball. Very raw. Needs to get stronger and learn how to use his hands. Only a one-year producer. Speaks in “juco-ese” and will require very simplified assignments.

Summary: A speed rusher who projects best to outside linebacker in the pros. Has intriguing athletic traits to pressurize the edge, but too often it does not show up on film because of his lack of instincts. Developmental project as a 3-4 outside ’backer.

NFL projection: Late draftable pick.

Steven Friday - OLB - Va Tech

Positives: "Athletic college defensive end expected to transition to outside linebacker in the NFL. Plays with good pad level, quick with his hands and fluid moving around the field. Rarely off his feet, easily changes direction and covers a large amount of area on the field. Quickly gets out to the sidelines or makes plays down the line of scrimmage. Constantly in the opponents backfield disrupting plays."

Negatives: "Cannot get off blocks, easily controlled at the point by single lineman and needs a clear shot at the ball handler to make the play. Does not play to his speed and shows marginal skill in pursuit."

Analysis: Friday is a late developing prospect that had good productivity last year and offers solid size/speed numbers for the next level. He needs a lot polish on his game yet is worth bringing into camp to be tried at a variety of linebacker positions.

Projection: FA

Alex Wujciak from Maryland is the best ILB available by far. He takes heads off, tackling machine and plays nasty special teams. Shocked that he hasn't been drafted but will be scooped up as soon as their is a CBA.

Terrence Toliver shocks me as still being out there. With his skill set I expected him to be a 3rd rounder. DeAndre Brown I thought would be overlooked but he too should have been drafted IMO. Mark Herzlich couldn't get a 7th round? wow that just may be the biggest snub thou. He must have really fallen from grace.

Wow

Didn't realize Friday went undrafted. He was one of my favorite picks for the 5th/6th round.

Aggressive guy with a non-stop motor who played at a school (VA Tech) that churns out NFL quality defensive talent every year basically.

Definitely one of the top guys I would look to bring in. Maybe he doesn't make an impact right away but I think he could challenge the Westerman's and Cody Brown's on the roster.

noel devine is an interesting name to bring in. I know we have a lot of RB depth right now but his speed and shiftiness is certainly interesting.
