Is this what's it has come to? Damn the off season with a Lockout really makes people dig deep for sports action...

It's got nothing to do with the lockout...

its true I've gotten into soccer more recently because of the lockout.

the owners and players have this idea that the NFL is the only game in town and fans will come crawling back with the same numbers as before... i don't know if that's true.

Myself and the majority of these posters watch this sport regardless of what's going in other sports.

Thanks for stopping by. We were dying to know your opinion of the sport.

I know. My June won't feel the same without 700 threads discussing Billal Powell puking in mini camp. The NFL is dead anyway from May to August.

Whenever the US announces a roster, I'm always struck by how few truly talented players they have. No starters on top tier teams in top leagues, few starters in top 4 leagues in Europe, and 1 player in their history who has scored 10 goals in a top league (Dempsey, this season).

People put a lot of blame on Bob Bradley, and he invites some of it. But, I think the reality of the US team, is that they aren't a top 10 or 15 squad yet, by any stretch.

that's true but it overlooks how good Tim Howard is... he keeps them in alot of games they have no business being in... he's as important to the USA as Chícharito is to Mexico

Sorry. I thought of that, and should have made it clear. I was referring to field players. The US has been producing top quality goalies for a while now.
