Andrew Luck

I'm hearing all over the place about this can't miss prospect of the decade and talking about this kid like he is already going to be the best QB in the NFL.

I don't watch much college, is this kid THAT special? The analysts are comparing him to the hype of Peyton during his college career. Is he really on that level?

He plays on a non-football power with only a handful of NFL prospects and he dominates Va. Tech in the Orange Bowl.

Yep

Luck has literally everything you look for in a franchise QB. The size, the arm, the accuracy, the intelligence, the pocket presense, the leadership, the clutch gene...it's all there.

The guy isn't just the best QB prospect since Manning, he's arguably the best since Elway.

I dont usually watch the QBs and Luck is impossible to miss. He's a game changer and easy 1 overall prospect. think about the last few drafts, he's easily better than Newton, Bradford, Stafford and those guys all went 1. its a QB league and he's got what they want.

Va. Tech is another nobody that plays nobody. Today their playing Arkansas state and i'll. Bet Arkansas state stays close for 3 qtrs. Ryan Applin for ASU is a good QB, but if Va Tech were as good as they're touted then it should be a straight up blow out.
As for Luck, he's no Elway or Marino, but he is a good college qb.
Won't be better than Ryan or Stafford imo.

Do you watch him play, or just look at the box scores?

Luck is far beyond where both Ryan and Stafford were at the same point in their careers. They're not in the same class as prospects.

Luck is a 70% passer. The difference between him and other 70% college passers is that he's playing in what's as close as it gets to an "NFL style" offense in college football. He's also throwing to receivers that are physically outmatched by the guys that are covering them. It's sick. It really is.

70% passer against 100% nobodies. Yes, i've seen him play andhe has never faced a defense that was SEC caliber and that says it all. His passes are usually to wide open guys, he is not as accurate as Moore from Boise. Pac-12 sux since they stopped the illegal recruiting and pay scandals.

LOL

Kellen Moore will be lucky to go before the 5th round.

Meanwhile, Luck could completely seperate his throwing shoulder tomorrow and still be guaranteed to be the #1 overall pick.

WOW. This guy has tremendous expectations on him coming to the NFL, he's so intriguing and seems like the total package

Guys like Luck are literally once in a generation prospects.

Unless you have a true elite at the QB position (Brady, Manning, Rodgers, Brees) then there is no logical way that you can pass on a prospect of his caliber.

This isn't Brady Quinn, JaMarcus Russell, or Tim Tebow that we're talking about here. This isn't even the Stafford's, Ryan's, Flacco's or Sanchez' of the next level. This is legitimately the best QB prospect since Peyton. Hell, arguably the best since Elway.

If you have even the least bit of uncertainty regarding your QB situation, then you would be a complete and utter jackass to pass on Andrew Luck.

Period.

He is great in the college game. Accurate and he really does have everything you look for in a QB. That being said, the NFL is whole new world. The difference between college and the pros, is EVERYONE is fast in the pros...EVERYONE. You definitely draft the kid. There is no way you pass him up. Let's see what he can do with the big boys.

You're underrating how good of a prospect he is. He's a better prospect than Manning ever was and the best QB prospect in about 30 years since Elway. The guy is ridiculously good.

You won't take him over Sanchez?

Though I agree with your assessment of his talent - I think you're exaggerating the circumstances under what condition a team would take him. Of that second tier of QBs you listed, none of those teams will take him. For both money invested, and political reasons.
