Kind of surprised there isn't a thread about this already. Papers are calling this the biggest scandal in the history of college sports. Fans seem 95% calling for Joe Paterno to resign immediately. I've even seen a lot of people calling for the death sentence to the program and for Penn State to forfeit all of its wins since 2002. God, what an ugly mess.

the people that you've seen calling for Penn State to forfeit wins are ignorant fools. This is a non-football related issue.

Sandusky is a scumbag for doing what he did... Curley and Schultz are scumbags for not reporting it to police initially AND for covering it up and lying about it. But it has nothing to do with wins/losses.

I'm all for these guys that were involved going down in flames, but to punish the team that had NOTHING to do with this is just stupid.

Then it took a week and a half before the graduate assistant was asked to tell his story to Curley and Gary Schultz, who oversaw the Penn State University police department. And then, the grand jury charges, the incident was buried and Sandusky was more or less allowed to maintain his office (though he was supposedly restricted from bringing any children into the building).

No way he didnt know, and I would have no problem if he was thrown in jail tonight, and died there.

There's prolly 20 people in that program that had to know, and deserve to rot in jail cells for their complicity (yes, their silence and betrayal of those kids.... is complicity).

From what I heard today he did know.

Paterno knows when someone farts on that campus you don't think he knew about this? It's disgraceful.

From what I am reading so far, I think Paterno is a friggin' scumbag who more or less did nothing about. But we will see. If that's true, he should resign in disgrace.

Most disgusting story I've ever heard involving college sports. This is so much more worse than all of the pay-for-play crap we've heard about. These are legitimate horrifying felonies being committed more than several times with quite a few people having perfect knowledge of the situation and not reporting anything - including Joe Pa, the God himself.

Paterno can kiss his legacy goodbye. And he should be fired ASAP.

I don't think Paterno should go to jail (unless it comes out he lied) but I have no problem with him getting fired, leaving State College in disgrace and having his legacy destroyed.

Yes, he reported that he walked in on Sandusky anally raping a 10 year old in the shower. Yet Sandusky was still welcome to the campus for 6 more years. Think about that.
