So...the more expensive something is, the better. Is that why doing business in NY is more advantageous than doing business in North Dakota?
You miss the point. The 160K guy may actually charge less because he is more aggressive, has more calls per day/week and has fewer call backs because he does quality work. It's all about through put.
A lower/= price/higher quality concept is a good business model.

Or...just relocate to North Carolina where there are no plumbing codes or inspectors and people are allowed to s-trap, wet vent, use 1/2" T's and use Qwest Pipe everywhere :D

Sure thing :P

I love the way many people who cant seem to make more than 50K -60K assume everyone else is screwing the public if they earn a better living.
I literally want the more expensive guy.
He is responsible and accountable. i.e..People WILL pay a little more for better service.

Indeed. If it wasn't for that, I would've never had work downstate. My company was very expensive...
PK (answering bosses phone because his hands were elbow deep in a marine boiler): Hello?

Customer: Yes...I need to have the steam unit on my steam shower replaced.

PK (to boss): Hey, Dan. Price for a steam unit replacement?

PK's boss: Tell them $1,700...which includes the new generator

PK (to customer): $2,700 installed...

PK's boss: WTF, dude?!?

Customer: Sounds good. When can you do it?

PK (to boss): They wanna know when we can install it....

PK's boss: Srsly?

PK: Can I keep the difference?

PK's boss: Uh. No.
In my case ....price wasn't the issue. I didn't ask the price. I called him and asked if he could do it. WHY? Because I know he is fair also. I have used them both, the price difference is not major but the service is. One is working today one is home with his beer.

I feel like this:

No, Government is the one behind the convoluted tax code.
and this:
The rich, like any other special interest, has surely gotten their fingers in that pie as well, but it's a big pie, with a lot of fingers in it, and a lot of social engineers baking it. It should also be pointed out that "the rich" are also as politically and socially diverse in their politics as any other group.
are conflicting opinions.

I think most of us would be well served if we forget the notion that politics is driven by some sort of principle belief system (Liberals want socialism/ Conservatives want zero govt) and accept the fact that special interests run both parties and that the money flows from hand to pocket to hand to trough. No one who has any real power is interested in spending cuts, simplifying the tax code or anything else probably 98% of the posters here are interested in the gov't actually doing.

it isn't a left right thing where one party is the hero and the other is the villain, it's money and favors and bribes and pork and all sorts of infuriating ****.

I know this had nothing really to do with your post, but I digressed. I'm in an angry cycle these days.

"As a Jets Fan..." is a given, for pretty much all of us.

No wonder we're all so ornery from time to time.

I don't know, they wasted so many opportunities this season, and now they are really working against math, which should really depress you given your vocation.

They lose pretty much every tie-breaker out there.

They need to control a game from beginning to end before I get impressed with any victory from here on out.
